IFNGR1 / PE / REA161

Product Details
Description Clone REA161 recognizes CD119, the alpha chain subunit of the IFN-gamma receptor. CD119 is a 80–100 kDa type I transmembrane protein and is responsible for IFN-gamma binding. Along with the beta chain, CD119 is also involved in signal transduction via STAT1 activation. Except for mature erythrocytes, expression of CD119 is found on the surface of most human cells. | Additional information: Clone REA161 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About IFNGR1
This gene (IFNGR1) encodes the ligand-binding chain (alpha) of the gamma interferon receptor. Human interferon-gamma receptor is a heterodimer of IFNGR1 and IFNGR2. A genetic variation in IFNGR1 is associated with susceptibility to Helicobacter pylori infection. In addition, defects in IFNGR1 are a cause of mendelian susceptibility to mycobacterial disease, also known as familial disseminated atypical mycobacterial infection. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
