Desmin is essential for proper muscular structure and function and plays an important role in regulating the sarcomere architecture and integrating sarcolemma, Z disk, and nuclear membrane in sarcomeres. | Clone REA1134 does not react with Keratin, Vimentin and Neurofilament and GFAP. | Additional information: Clone REA1134 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

Homopolymers of this protein form a stable intracytoplasmic filamentous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane.
