Desmin / APC / REA1134
Product Details
Description | Clone REA1134 recognizes the human Desmin, a muscle-specific type III intermediate filament, which is found in cardiac muscle, skeletal muscle and smooth muscle tissue. Desmin is essential for proper muscular structure and function and plays an important role in regulating the sarcomere architecture and integrating sarcolemma, Z disk, and nuclear membrane in sarcomeres. | Clone REA1134 does not react with Keratin, Vimentin and Neurofilament and GFAP. | Additional information: Clone REA1134 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About Desmin
This gene encodes a muscle-specific class III intermediate filament. Homopolymers of this protein form a stable intracytoplasmic filamentous network connecting myofibrils to each other and to the plasma membrane. Mutations in this gene are associated with desmin-related myopathy, a familial cardiac and skeletal myopathy (CSM), and with distal myopathies. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
