CD99 / Unconjugated /

Product Details
Description FLEX Monoclonal Mouse Anti-Human CD99, MIC2 Gene Products, Ewing's Sarcoma Marker, Clone 12E7, Ready-to-Use (Link), Unconjugated, Packaged in vials for use with Autostainer Link instruments, Immunohistochemistry, 60 tests, 12 mL. The MIC2 gene products are also called p30/32mic2. They are expressed on the cell membrane of some lymphocytes (bone marrow, lymph nodes and spleen), cortical thymocytes, granulosa cells of the ovary, most Langerhans' islet cells, CNS ependymal cells, Sertoli's cells of the testis and, in a few cases, endothelial cells of single blood vessels. Results aid in the classification of Ewing's sarcoma and primitive peripheral neuroectoderm tumors.

About CD99
The protein encoded by this gene is a cell surface glycoprotein involved in leukocyte migration, T-cell adhesion, ganglioside GM1 and transmembrane protein transport, and T-cell death by a caspase-independent pathway. In addition, the encoded protein may have the ability to rearrange the actin cytoskeleton and may also act as an oncosuppressor in osteosarcoma. This gene is found in the pseudoautosomal region of chromosomes X and Y and escapes X-chromosome inactivation. There is a related pseudogene located immediately adjacent to this locus.
