P-Selectin / PE-Cy7 / Psel.KO.2.12

Product Details
Description NB100-65391 recognizes the P-Selectin cell surface antigen, a 140kD glycoprotein. P-Selectin is expressed by activated platelets and endothelial cells, and plays an important role in adhesive processes between leucocytes and endothelial cells. Clone Psel.KO.2.12 is reported to inhibit P-selectin-dependent adhesion between HL60 cells and P-selectin transfected COS cells.

About P-Selectin
This gene encodes a 140 kDa protein that is stored in the alpha-granules of platelets and Weibel-Palade bodies of endothelial cells. This protein redistributes to the plasma membrane during platelet activation and degranulation and mediates the interaction of activated endothelial cells or platelets with leukocytes. The membrane protein is a calcium-dependent receptor that binds to sialylated forms of Lewis blood group carbohydrate antigens on neutrophils and monocytes. Alternative splice variants may occur but are not well documented. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
About PE-Cy7
PE-Cyanine®7 (PE-Cy7, RPE-Cy7) is a far red-emitting tandem fluorophore that combines phycoerythrin (PE) and Cy7. The donor molecule, PE can be excited by the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser and and transfers energy to the acceptor molecule, Cy7, which emitts light that can be captured with a 780/60 nm bandpass filter. PE-CY7 has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 778 nm, and is a suitable alternative to PE-Vio®770 and PE-Fire™ 780.
