Sirtuin 6 / Alexa Fluor 700 /
Product Details
Description | This SIRT6 antibody is useful for Western blot and Immunohistochemistry paraffin embedded sections. In Western blot a band is seen at ~37 kDa representing SIRT6, and a non-specific higher MW band can be seen at ~61 kDa. This antibody does not appear to detect the human protein in Western blot. In IHC-P, staining was observed in the nucleus of mouse testis. Prior to immunostaining paraffin tissues, antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.0) is recommended. Use in Immunocytochemistry/immunofluorescence reported in scientific literature (PMID: 23899523) The observed molecular weight of the protein may vary from the listed predicted molecular weight due to post translational modifications, post translation cleavages, relative charges, and other experimental factors. | |

About Sirtuin 6
This gene encodes a member of the sirtuin family of NAD-dependent enzymes that are implicated in cellular stress resistance, genomic stability, aging and energy homeostasis. The encoded protein is localized to the nucleus, exhibits ADP-ribosyl transferase and histone deacetylase activities, and plays a role in DNA repair, maintenance of telomeric chromatin, inflammation, lipid and glucose metabolism. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Mar 2016]

About Alexa Fluor 700
Alexa Fluor™ 700 (AF700, Alexa 700) has an excitation peak at 702 nm and an emission peak at 723 nm, and is spectrally similar to iFluor® 680 (ATT Bioquest) and iFluor® 700 (ATT Bioquest). Alexa 700 is commonly used in Flow Cytometry and is similar in size, brightness and application to iFluor® 700 and Vio® R720.
