TNF alpha / PE / REA636
Product Details
Description | Clone REA636 recognizes the mouse tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-alpha) antigen, a 17 kDa cytokine that binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR. TNF-alpha is produced by cells that are involved in inflammatory immune responses. It is secreted by activated CD4+ T cells, monocytes, macrophages, NK cells, and neutrophils. TNF-alpha binding to surface receptors elicits a wide array of biologic activities, including cytolysis and cytostasis of many tumor cell lines in vitro, hemorraghic necrosis of tumors in vivo, increased fibroblast proliferation, and enhanced chemotaxis and phagocytosis in neutrophils. Furthermore it causes fever by direct action or by stimulation of interleukin-1 secretion. | Additional information: Clone REA636 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
