IFN-gamma / APC / AN.18.17.24

Product Details
Description Mouse interferon gamma (IFN-gamma) is produced by activated T, B, and NK cells and is an anti-viral and anti-parasitic cytokine. IFN-gamma, in synergy with other cytokines such as TNF-alpha, inhibits proliferation of normal and transformed cells. Immunomodulatory effects of IFN-gamma are exerted on a wide range of cell types expressing the high affinity receptors for IFN-gamma. IFN-gamma also exerts anti-proliferative, immunoregulatory, and proinflammatory activities. IFN-gamma can upregulate MHC class I and II antigen expression by antigen-presenting cells.

About IFN-gamma
This gene encodes a soluble cytokine that is a member of the type II interferon class. The encoded protein is secreted by cells of both the innate and adaptive immune systems. The active protein is a homodimer that binds to the interferon gamma receptor which triggers a cellular response to viral and microbial infections. Mutations in this gene are associated with an increased susceptibility to viral, bacterial and parasitic infections and to several autoimmune diseases. [provided by RefSeq, Dec 2015]
About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
