TIM-4 / PE / REA999

Product Details
Description Clone REA999 recognizes the mouse antigen TIM-4, which is also known as T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain-containing protein 4 or spleen, mucin-containing, knockout of lymphotoxin protein (SMUCKLER). TIM-4 is a member of the TIM gene family, which is involved in a variety of immunity related processes including T cell proliferation and survival, tissue inflammation, and atopy. In mice, eight TIM genes encode the proteins TIM-1 to TIM-8, whereas only three TIM genes are found in humans encoding TIM-1, TIM-3, and TIM-4. In spleen, TIM-4 is expressed on antigen presenting cells such as lymphoid and myeloid dendritic cells and macrophages but not by T or B lymphocytes.

About TIM-4
Predicted to enable phosphatidylserine binding activity. Predicted to act upstream of or within apoptotic cell clearance. Predicted to be integral component of membrane. [provided by Alliance of Genome Resources, Apr 2022]
About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
