Siglec-10 / PE / REA1048
Product Details
Description | Clone REA1048 recognizes the human siglec-10 antigen, also known as sialic acid-binding Ig-like lectin 10, which is a member of the CD33-related group of siglecs. The cytoplasmic tail of siglec-10 contains four tyrosines, two of which are embedded in ITIM-signaling motifs and are likely to be involved in intracellular signaling. Amongst peripheral blood leucocytes, siglec-10 was found to be expressed on eosinophils, monocytes, and B cells. Higher levels of siglec-10 were found on a minor subset of NK-like cells that express the CD16 low-affinity Fc receptor but lack the CD56 antigen. The molecular properties and expression pattern suggest that siglec-10 may have evolved to function as an inhibitory receptor of the innate immune system. | Additional information: Clone REA1048 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About Siglec-10
SIGLECs are members of the immunoglobulin superfamily that are expressed on the cell surface. Most SIGLECs have 1 or more cytoplasmic immune receptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs, or ITIMs. SIGLECs are typically expressed on cells of the innate immune system, with the exception of the B-cell expressed SIGLEC6 (MIM 604405).[supplied by OMIM, Jul 2002]

About PE
Phycoerythrin (PE, R-PE) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein-chromophore complex that can be excited the 488-nm blue, 532-nm green, or 561-nm yellow-green laser with increasing efficiency and captured with a 586/14 nm bandpass filter. PE has an excitation peak at 565 nm and an emission peak at 578 nm. PE is 240kD in size and has an extinction coefficient of ~2x10^6 which makes it one of the brightest fluorophores available and a potent donor upon which to build tandem fluorophores with longer Stoke's Shifts.
