Ly-6G / APC-Vio770 / REA526
Product Details
Description | Clone REA526 recognizes the mouse lymphocyte antigen 6G (Ly-6G) antigen, a 21–25 kDa glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-linked protein which is highly expressed on neutrophilic granulocytes. Expression greatly increases during granulocyte maturation. To a lower extent, Ly-6G is also expressed during the development of monocytes. In mouse bone marrow samples, Ly-6G is primarily detected on granulocytes, but not on lymphocytes or erythrocytes. Ligation of Ly-6G in animals with an underlying background inflammation (induced by TNF-alpha) leads to profound cardiovascular and respiratory responses, including severe breathing difficulties, leukocyte and platelet aggregation, and coagulation, leading to microvessel obstruction and subsequent death. | Additional information: Clone REA526 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About Ly-6G
LY6G6D belongs to a cluster of leukocyte antigen-6 (LY6) genes located in the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class III region on chromosome 6. Members of the LY6 superfamily typically contain 70 to 80 amino acids, including 8 to 10 cysteines. Most LY6 proteins are attached to the cell surface by a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor that is directly involved in signal transduction (Mallya et al., 2002 [PubMed 12079290]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2009]
