CD71 / APC / REA627
Product Details
Description | Clone REA627 recognizes the mouse CD71 cell-surface antigen, which is also known as transferrin receptor protein 1 (TfR1), and essential for iron transport into proliferating cells. This homodimer is a single-pass type II membrane protein, which is able to bind one transferrin molecule per 90 kDa subunit. CD71 plays a role in cell proliferation by controlling the supply of iron and is expressed on erythroid precursors, immature proliferating cells, reticulocytes, but is very low expressed on resting leukocytes. | Additional information: Clone REA627 displays negligible binding to Fc receptors. | |

About CD71
This gene encodes a cell surface receptor necessary for cellular iron uptake by the process of receptor-mediated endocytosis. This receptor is required for erythropoiesis and neurologic development. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been identified. [provided by RefSeq, Sep 2015]

About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
