ICAM-1 / APC / REAL289
Product Details
Description | Clone REAL289 is an antibody fragment derived from the full CD54 (ICAM-1) antibody molecule. It displays no binding to Fc receptors. The recombinantly engineered antibody fragments are multimerized to form the REAlease Complex to bind markers with high avidity. | Clone REAL289 recognizes the murine CD54 antigen, a type I transmembrane glycoprotein also known as intercellular adhesion molecule 1 (ICAM-1). CD54 is continuously present in low concentrations in the membranes of monocytes/macrophages, lymphocytes, activated endothelial cells, granulocytes, and dendritic cells. Its expression is regulated by inflammatory cytokines and can be induced by interleukin 1 (IL-1) and tumor necrosis factor. CD54 is a ligand for LFA-1 (CD11a/CD18) and Mac-1 (CD11b/CD18). When activated, leukocytes bind to endothelial cells via CD54/LFA-1 and then transmigrate into tissues. | The REAlease Kits consist of the respective fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes and the REAlease Support Kit for removal of the REAlease Complexes and optional relabeling with different fluorochrome-conjugated REAlease Complexes. | |

About ICAM-1
This gene encodes a cell surface glycoprotein which is typically expressed on endothelial cells and cells of the immune system. It binds to integrins of type CD11a / CD18, or CD11b / CD18 and is also exploited by Rhinovirus as a receptor. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]

About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
