ADGRB2 / Unconjugated /

Product Details
Description BAI2 is an Orphan-B GPCR with an unknown ligand. Decreased BAI2 expression is correlated with the formation of new blood vessels in a murine ischemic model. Along with BAI2, there are two other brain-specific angiogenesis inhibitor genes, designated BAI1 and BAI3, which have similar tissue specificities and structures. Alternative splice forms of BAI2 are differentially regulated during development.

About ADGRB2
This gene encodes a a seven-span transmembrane protein that is thought to be a member of the secretin receptor family. The encoded protein is a brain-specific inhibitor of angiogenesis. The mature peptide may be further cleaved into additional products (PMID:20367554). Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2014]
