Product Details
Description | Rabbit polyclonal to KDM1B.Lysine-specific histone demethylase 1B (KDM1B) belongs to the flavin monoamine oxidase family.KDM1B is a histone demethylase that demethylates 'Lys-4' of histone H3, a specific tag for epigenetictranscriptional activation, thereby acting as a corepressor. KDM1B is required for de novo DNAmethylation of a subset of imprinted genes during oogenesis. KDM1B demethylates both mono-anddi-methylated 'Lys-4' of histone H3, but has no effect on tri-methylated 'Lys-4' or other methylated Lysresidues of histone H3 or H4. | |

About AOF1
Flavin-dependent histone demethylases, such as KDM1B, regulate histone lysine methylation, an epigenetic mark that regulates gene expression and chromatin function (Karytinos et al., 2009 [PubMed 19407342]).[supplied by OMIM, Oct 2009]
