VAMP1 / APC / SP-11
Product Details
Description | Mouse monoclonal to VAMP1 (APC). VAMP-1, also known as vesicle-associated membrane protein, is an 18kDa member of the synaptobrevin family of proteins. It is expressed in neurons, neutrophils, and skeletal muscle cells, and participates in vesicle fusion with the plasma membrane. Synaptobrevins, Syntakins and the 25kDa synaptosomal associated SNAP25 are the main components of a protein complex involved in the docking and/or fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane. VAMP-1 is also one of the key proteins in the SNARE complex which is involved in regulated exocytosis.. | |

About VAMP1
Synapotobrevins, syntaxins, and the synaptosomal-associated protein SNAP25 are the main components of a protein complex involved in the docking and/or fusion of synaptic vesicles with the presynaptic membrane. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the vesicle-associated membrane protein (VAMP)/synaptobrevin family. Mutations in this gene are associated with autosomal dominant spastic ataxia 1. Multiple alternative splice variants have been described, but the full-length nature of some variants has not been defined. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2014]

About APC
Allophycocyanin (APC) is a fluorescent protein derived from cyanobacteria and red algae and a potent donor fluorophore to create tandem dyes that can be excited off the 633-640 nm laser. APC has an excitation peak at 650 nm and a emission peak at 660 nm.
