SOS2 / Unconjugated /
Product Details
Description | Rabbit polyclonal to SOS2.Son of Sevenless (SOS) was discovered in Drosophila melanogaster. SOS has two humanhomologues, SOS1 and SOS2. SOS proteins are guanine-nucleotide releasing factor that canpromote the exchange of Ras-bound GDP by GTP to activate Ras in response to growth factorstimulation. SOS proteins also appear to serve as a guanine nucleotide exchanger for Rac and, thus, may be involved in cytoskeleton reorganization. SOS proteins may be recruited to different cellularlocations through interactions with the adaptor proteins Grb2 and E3b1. | |

About SOS2
This gene encodes a regulatory protein that is involved in the positive regulation of ras proteins. Mutations in this gene are associated with Noonan Syndrome-9. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2016]
