KLRG1 / Unconjugated /

Product Details
Description Rabbit polyclonal to KLRG1.Killer cell lectin-like receptor subfamily G member 1 (KLRG1) is a single-pass type II cell membraneprotein that is expressed specifically on natural killer (NK) cells and activated CD8 T-cells and isinduced by pathogens and viral infections. KLRG1 forms monomer and disulfide-linked homodimer.KLRG1 plays an inhibitory role on natural killer (NK) cells and T-cell functions upon binding to theirnon-MHC ligands. KLRG1 may mediate missing self recognition by binding to a highly conserved siteon classical cadherins, enabling it to monitor expression of E-cadherin/CDH1, N-cadherin/CDH2 andR-cadherin/CDH4 on target cells.

About KLRG1
Natural killer (NK) cells are lymphocytes that can mediate lysis of certain tumor cells and virus-infected cells without previous activation. They can also regulate specific humoral and cell-mediated immunity. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the killer cell lectin-like receptor (KLR) family, which is a group of transmembrane proteins preferentially expressed in NK cells. Studies in mice suggested that the expression of this gene may be regulated by MHC class I molecules. [provided by RefSeq, Jun 2016]
