This gene encodes a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors. Members of this gene family typically encode proteins that contain a paired box domain, an octapeptide, and a paired-type homeodomain. CF®555 from Biotium is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 555 nm and an emission peak at 565 nm. It can be useful in both fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. It is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 555, ATTO 550 and DyLight™ 550. In Flow Cytometry, R-PE is a brighter alternative to CF®555. In microscopy, it has been validated for use in super-resolution imaging by STORM.
