GCAP2

Aliases: GCAP 2, GCAP2, GUCA2, RP48
Other: guanylyl cyclase-activating protein 2|guanylate cyclase activator 1B (retina)|guanylate cyclase-activating protein, photoreceptor 2

The protein encoded by this gene is a calcium-binding protein that activates photoreceptor guanylate cyclases. This gene may have arisen due to a gene duplication event since there is a highly similar gene clustered with it on chromosome 6. Mutations in this gene can cause a form of retinitis pigmentosa. Common Filter: 670/30
Excitation Peak: 482
Emission Peak: 675

Peridinin-Chlorophyll-Protein (PerCP) is a red-emitting fluorescent protein isolated from algae that can be excited by the 488 nm blue laser and captured with a 670/30 nm bandpass filter. PerCP exhibits a large Stokes' Shift, with an excitation peak at 482 nm and an emission peak at 675 nm. PerCP is was historically used in flow cytometry, however it is highly susceptible to photobleaching and... see more
