The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for C-C type chemokines. It belongs to family 1 of the G protein-coupled receptors. This receptor binds and responds to a variety of chemokines, including eotaxin (CCL11), eotaxin-3 (CCL26), MCP-3 (CCL7), MCP-4 (CCL13), and RANTES (CCL5). BD Horizon RealYellow 586 (RY586) is a bright, yellow emitting dye used in flow cytometry. This fluorophore is excited optimally by the 561 laser and is similar in its emission properties to PE, but interestingly, RY586 shows minimal cross-laser excitation with the 488 laser and can be used in spectral flow cytometry panels concurrently with PE (as stated by supplier).
