This gene encodes a receptor for the Fc portion of immunoglobulin G, and it is involved in the removal of antigen-antibody complexes from the circulation, as well as other responses, including antibody dependent cellular mediated cytotoxicity and antibody dependent enhancement of virus infections. CF®555 from Biotium is a fluorophore with an excitation peak at 555 nm and an emission peak at 565 nm. It can be useful in both fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. It is spectrally similar to Alexa Fluor™ 555, ATTO 550 and DyLight™ 550. In Flow Cytometry, R-PE is a brighter alternative to CF®555. In microscopy, it has been validated for use in super-resolution imaging by STORM.
